A small cup suitable for gyokuro tea or sake, shaped like a katakuchi.
Susa ware, or Susa-yaki, is a traditional pottery from Yamaguchi Prefecture, not far from the Hagi region. Known for its robust clay and natural ash glazes, Susa ware carries a quiet, earthy character shaped by wood firing and the influence of nearby Hagi traditions. Each piece reflects the softness of local materials and the natural variation of the kiln, vessels made for everyday use that age beautifully through handling and time.
