A majestic Tenmoku (or ‘Jian Zhan’) tea cup with a naturally formed blue pattern due to oven-firing at high temperature (1300ºC). It’s made in the most popular shape known as ‘bound rim’ or ‘shu kou’ which resembles an inverted cap of a mushroom.
Shu Kou (Bound Rim) Tea Cup Shape
The Shu Kou tea cup features a delicately curved rim, which was originally designed to prevents any spillage when pouring the tea during tea competitions. Due to its relatively deep shape, it’s also known as a ‘deep tea cup’.
