A 100% handmade teapot by certified Yixing artist Hui Fang Shen. The teapot is made in the shape of a ‘dragon egg’ with beautiful carved art scene of clouds and dragons.
The material used for this teapot is iron-oxide rich Zhuni clay, which turns dark after oven-firing. The challenge of crafting such teapots lies in its baking process: the temperature needs to be high enough to result in a dark colour, but not too high to avoid too much shrinkage. The latter may result in cracks in the teapot.
The teapot has a traditional 9 hole filter in the spout. It’s allround size (approximately 11.5x9cm / 220ml), which makes it ideal prepare tea for 1-4 tea drinkers.
The teapot is shipped in a gift box including a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
